Udaipur- City of Lakes

Udaipur, also known as the City of Lakes, is one of the most important tourist places in Rajasthan. Uday Singh II who was the Maharana of Mewar founded this wonderful city in 1559.

Udaipur is famous for lakes, forts, palaces, temples and gardens. Some of the important tourists places in Udaipur are City Palace, Lake Pichola, Jag Mandir, Monsoon Palace and Jagdish temple.

The City is sometimes also called as " Venice of East"
